Job Description
Chevo is seeking a Microsoft Products SME to support the FireNet environment and serve as a trusted advisor to federal stakeholders. This role provides technical leadership, tenant management expertise, and operational support to improve collaboration, security, governance, and adoption of Microsoft technologies supporting interagency wildland fire operations. The position is primarily remote with occasional travel within the Washington, DC metro area.
This position serves as the primary Microsoft subject matter expert supporting the FireNet environment, providing technical leadership, governance, security oversight, tenant administration, and stakeholder coordination to enhance collaboration and operational effectiveness across interagency wildland fire operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with DOI, USDA Forest Service, and partner organizations to improve FireNet operations and Microsoft environment utilization.
- Advise leadership on Microsoft platform governance, licensing optimization, security, and user adoption.
- Support Microsoft tenant administration, B2B collaboration, external user access, and platform enhancements.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, SOPs, governance documentation, and operational guidance.
- Manage security controls, compliance reviews, reporting, distribution lists, and group administration.
- Interpret federal IT policies, directives, and mandates and assess impacts to FireNet operations.
- Support Microsoft issue resolution, ticket management, and operational reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum five (5) years of Microsoft platform subject matter expertise.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant administration, collaboration services, and governance.
- Experience administering Microsoft environments, tools, and security controls.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- Strong experience with Microsoft environment settings and security controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and related technologies).
- Microsoft 365 administration and governance.
- Identity and access management.
- Interagency collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Policy development and compliance management.
- Experience supporting federal cloud environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
