Overview
Intelligent Waves is seeking a Tier II Operations Technician to provide application support, network support, and Red Hat Linux systems administration for an emerging DoW and Intelligence Community communications system. Based at DISA Headquarters in Fort Meade, MD, with occasional travel to Mechanicsburg, PA, for training, this role works alongside contractor and government engineering professionals to manage applications, networks, and systems; troubleshoot complex architecture issues; and support a large community of customers. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving technical issues, performing software repairs, using diagnostic tools and testing methods, and escalating issues as needed. The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated record of supporting hundreds of users and large-scale network and communications systems in a 24/7 operational environment

Responsibilities
System & Application Support
- Support a large-scale Full Motion Video (FMV) architecture, proactively identifying and resolving issues affecting the application portal, infrastructure, and network backbone.
- Diagnose system issues, perform fault isolation, and restore services within operational environments.
- Assist with large-scale system and architecture implementations and ongoing operational support.
- Troubleshoot software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues directly within operational environments.
- Utilize network protocols and services to support LAN/WAN implementation, troubleshooting, and performance.
- Administer Linux-based systems and support environments utilizing Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, document, track, and manage technical issues through resolution.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Tier III support teams as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system issues, troubleshooting activities, risks, and resolutions.
- Provide internal and external customers with responsive, concise, and accurate updates regarding service status, technical issues, risks, and resolution efforts.
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively within a technical team environment alongside software, network, and systems engineers.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and operational support activities across technical disciplines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- DoD Top Secret Clearance w/TS-SCI eligibility
- 3-10 years of experience and a bachelors or masters degree.
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in operational or customer-facing environments.
- Experience with web-based technologies, Linux/Unix operating systems, and database queue generation.
- Knowledge of WAN environments and supporting infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Linux administration, and distributed systems.
