The university seeks an innovative recruitment professional to serve as the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admission, with a focus on building meaningful partnerships with school counselors, independent educational consultants, and other college access professionals.
As the climate surrounding higher education becomes more complex, the University of Dayton seeks to leverage the critical relationship with key external partners. This position will serve as a trusted, knowledgeable partner to high school counselors and education consultants and will bring specialized expertise in counselor engagement, reflective insights, and relationship-centered recruitment. A successful candidate will bring a creative approach to the ongoing relationship between student recruitment and the school and independent-counselor audiences. The successful candidate will be skilled at translating counselor insights into responsive outreach strategies, meaningful student and family experiences, and effective cross-campus collaboration. This position will report to the Director of Regional Recruitment and Admission and be based in Dayton, Ohio.

Professional responsibilities include overseeing and implementing all events with high school counselors and independent education consultants, as well as overseeing the Recruitment and Admission School Counselor Advisory Board. The Associate Director will coordinate counselor events in both the fall and spring semesters with events hosted in various cities as well as on campus.. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in planning, documentation, scheduling, budget awareness, CRM activity, and post-event assessment.

Additionally, this position will manage an assigned recruitment territory, through high school visits, individual appointments with students, families, and school counselors, and territory-specific programming to build a funnel of applicants, admits, and matriculants.

Due to the nature of this position working with students, families and external stakeholders from various backgrounds, a commitment to contribute to an inclusive climate is necessary.

This position will travel up to 5 weeks in the fall semester and up to 4 weeks in the spring. The Associate Director will have the opportunity to work remotely two days a week and be on campus at the University of Dayton three days a week.

-Bachelor's degree
-At least 4 years of experience in college admission, financial aid, or student services.
-Commitment to contribute to an inclusive climate that includes working with students, families and external stakeholders from various backgrounds.
-Effective written and verbal communication skills.
-Effective public speaking.
-Relationship management skills with diverse audiences.
-Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
-Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-Master's degree in higher education administration/student affairs or related field.
-5 or more years of experience in college admission, financial aid, or student services.
-Knowledge and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist principles of education and values.
-Demonstrated experience working with families and students of diverse backgrounds.
-Experience working with a student information system, such as Banner, or a CRM, such as Salesforce, for recruitment and admissions tasks.
-Ability to develop and educate recruitment and admission staff around best practices to engage in support high school counselors.
-Experience with dynamic event coordination.
