Design Project Manager | Palisociety in Los Angeles, California at Palisociety
Job Description
WHO WE ARE:
Palisociety is a society of unique hotels and residences: Palihouse, Palihotel, Le Petit Pali, ARRIVE by Palisociety, and a growing collection of independently branded properties. Since our first hotel opened in Los Angeles in 2009, we've grown into a nationwide portfolio of neighborhood-centric hotels, restaurants, bars, and event spaces, earning recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, and more.
We consider our employees our greatest asset: structured training from day one, consistent feedback, and a clear path for growth. We develop our leaders from within, because the strongest hospitality companies are the ones that grow their own.
POSITION PROFILE:
Design is the center of what we do. Guided by Avi Brosh, our Executive Founder and Chief Creative Officer, and Matt Fisher, Principal | Real Estate + Development, our design and development team carries each hotel from concept through documentation, procurement, construction, and installation, all the way to opening day and beyond.
We're looking for an experienced, motivated, detail-oriented, and personable Design Project Manager to join our dynamic design team. In this role you would hold overall project responsibility, design oversight, and quality control for our projects, working under the direction of our Executive Founder and Chief Creative Officer, our Principal | Real Estate + Development, and our Design Director. You'll bring hospitality design experience, strong CAD skills, and the leadership to carry each project from first concept through opening and operations.
THE TASK AT HAND:
Lead each project's design, including all interior architectural and FF&E design, tracking design and execution against the overall program, quality objectives, project constraints, and the operator's brand of design.
Create interior design construction documentation, schedules, and specifications, along with FF&E specifications and tracking documents, as applicable.
Create presentation materials and design concept and inspiration boards as needed.
Coordinate materials sourcing and finish specification selection and assist with sourcing and purchasing interiors-related items (materials and fixtures), FF&E, and OS&E when necessary.
Manage the consultant and contractor team for the duration of the project, reviewing and approving design documents issued by architects, MEP and structural engineers, design consultants, and other vendors.
Provide construction administration during construction and renovation, including site visits, and oversee and manage the installation of all FF&E, OS&E, and finish materials.
Help create and implement design budgets and continually manage and monitor project budgets.
Manage the project schedule and ensure timelines are diligently executed, conducting team meetings to review design issues and provide updates on milestones.
Own quality assurance of project execution and take on other design-related duties and special projects as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Required
7+ years of related experience with an Interior Design/Architecture education and background, including demonstrated success as a project manager on hospitality and/or brand design projects.
Experience leading and managing hospitality projects across the entire project lifecycle, from conception through occupancy and operations.
Strong AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
Proven fiscal budgeting, accountability, and responsibility.
Excellent written, verbal, and management communication skills, including proven leadership, organization, and client relationship management.
Ability to manage challenging situations, tasks, and timelines with tact, grace, and style while bringing new concepts and ideas to the team.
Collaborates effectively with co-workers, departments, and business units with an engaged and innovative spirit, and adapts to a dynamic project portfolio, always motivated to generate forward-thinking results.
Able to travel for project-related tasks and work on site during ongoing projects as needed.
Physical
Able to lift up to 40 lbs., and to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch.
Able to walk and stand for extended periods of up to four (4) hours.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
Competitive compensation package with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus 401(k).
Paid time off, holiday pay, and sick pay.
Career advancement and professional development as we open new hotels and restaurants nationwide.
Employee discounts across our entire portfolio (25 hotels and more to come!).
TO APPLY:
Apply through this posting and include a link to your portfolio. We'd also love a few sentences on a hotel, restaurant, or space whose design you admire, and why.
