About the Role:

The Housekeeping/Floor Tech plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within healthcare facilities, directly contributing to patient safety and overall facility operations. This position involves thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, common areas, and specialized medical spaces to prevent the spread of infections and ensure compliance with health regulations. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to established protocols to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Additionally, the Housekeeping/Floor Tech supports the healthcare team by promptly addressing spills, waste disposal, and floor maintenance to create a welcoming and hazard-free environment. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in healthcare environmental services or infection control.
• Experience with floor care equipment such as buffers and scrubbers.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and healthcare facility standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, and other facility areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Disinfect surfaces and equipment following infection control guidelines to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
• Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Properly handle and dispose of waste materials, including biohazardous and sharps waste, in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate department promptly.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to coordinate cleaning schedules that minimize disruption to patient care.
• Adhere to all facility policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements related to housekeeping and infection control.
