Job Summary
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Staff Accountant based in Mocksville, NC. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close processes. Key duties include preparing financial statements, assisting in budget preparation, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting audits. The candidate will also collaborate with teams to provide financial insights and improve financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in pay, deductions, and taxes.
- Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Coordinate with HR on employee changes including onboarding, terminations, benefit updates, and compensation adjustments.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- A/R reconciliations, including matching payments to invoices and identifying discrepancies.
What you'll bring?
- Proficiency in Financial Reporting, General Ledger Accounting, and GAAP compliance.
- Experience in Budgeting, Forecasting, and preparing Financial Statements.
- Strong skills in Account Reconciliation and Journal Entry preparation.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in manufacturing is a plus.
