Mechanic in Marshfield, Missouri at MKB

MKB is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated Mechanic to support the safe and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility in Marshfield, MO. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and improving a wide variety of equipment including loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, conveyors, hydraulic systems, motors, bearings, shafts, and other production machinery.

The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting mechanical issues, takes pride in preventative maintenance, and works independently to keep equipment operating efficiently and safely.

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment including loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, and other material handling equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment including bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and drive systems.
• Perform equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize production interruptions.
• Conduct welding, fabrication, and light machining work as needed to support maintenance activities.
• Install, align, and maintain motors, pulleys, belts, chains, and other power transmission components.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
• Assist with facility maintenance projects and equipment upgrades.
• Work closely with production and operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or related mechanical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving hydraulics, bearings, shafts, motors, and mechanical systems.
• Experience repairing forklifts, loaders, telehandlers, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Basic welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience (480V, motors, controls, VFDs).
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Technical training, vocational education, or related certifications.

• Frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
• Ability to respond to equipment breakdowns during production hours.

• Equipment uptime is maximized through proactive maintenance.
• Breakdowns are diagnosed and repaired efficiently.
• Safety standards are consistently followed.
• Preventative maintenance schedules are completed on time.
• Strong partnership with production teams to support operational goals.
