This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a HR Sr Generalist based in the United States.
In this role, you will serve as a key HR partner with a strong focus on employee relations and workplace investigations, ensuring that all cases are handled with fairness, objectivity, and compliance. You will be responsible for managing sensitive HR matters such as complaints of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation while maintaining strict adherence to employment laws and internal policies. This position plays a critical role in protecting organizational integrity, supporting employees, and ensuring consistent application of HR practices across the business. You will work closely with legal teams, leadership, and HR stakeholders to investigate complex issues and deliver clear, evidence-based findings. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring sound judgment, confidentiality, and strong communication skills. - Lead end-to-end workplace investigations involving employee relations issues such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations.
- Manage cases originating from internal reports, anonymous hotlines, and external regulatory or legal channels.
- Conduct interviews, gather evidence, and ensure thorough documentation of investigative findings.
- Prepare detailed, legally defensible reports summarizing case facts, analysis, and recommendations for leadership.
- Apply knowledge of U.S. employment laws including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and relevant state/local regulations.
- Partner with legal counsel on high-risk investigations, claims, and litigation-related matters while maintaining objective fact-finding independence.
- Recommend corrective actions, disciplinary measures, and process improvements to mitigate future risk and strengthen compliance.
- Identify trends in employee relations cases and contribute to proactive organizational improvements.
- Communicate investigative outcomes clearly and effectively to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure a consistent, fair, and compliant approach to all employee relations processes.
- Support additional HR generalist responsibilities and special projects as business needs evolve.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Solid understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience conducting sensitive employee investigations with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present neutral, fact-based findings.
- Ability to manage high-stress conversations while remaining objective, empathetic, and composed.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and case management or HR tracking systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate evidence and draw clear conclusions.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred.
- Experience interacting with legal counsel or responding to regulatory agencies (e.g., EEOC or Department of Labor) is a plus.
