Job Description
Case Coordinators work alongside attorneys and paralegals, performing tasks required in the initial phase of a personal injury case, with an emphasis on assisting clients with insurance matters and preparing the case for settlement or litigation.
Essential Functions
- Assist clients with insurance related matters, such as No-fault claim procedures, property damage claims and the personal injury case process.
- Identify insurance representatives handling various aspects of the case and provide the insurance carriers with case facts.
- Identify insurance coverages applicable to the case.
- Maintain contact with the client and obtain medical treatment information for periodic case evaluation.
- Identify various liens that may be filed against the personal injury case. Gather lien information from various agencies, such as Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance companies and coordinate resolution of said lien.
- Work with, delegate to, and guide assigned paralegals in the work up of the case and the management of the case file.
- Together with the assigned attorney, determine what liability investigation is required and coordinate the investigation.
- Prepare the case for evaluation with the assigned attorney and/or Supervising Attorney.
- Prepare detailed demand packages for the insurance carrier(s).
- Report offers and negotiation status to the attorney and/or Supervising Attorney so the attorney can advise the client accordingly.
- Maintain positive attitude toward coworkers and clients.
- Case Coordinators may work on New York, Massachusetts, and/or Vermont cases as necessary.

Required Education and Qualifications
Strong knowledge of PC applications, Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in the insurance industry (automobile insurance including bodily injury and no-fault experience preferred)
Salary is commensurate with experience
Physical Demands/Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as calculator, copy machine and printer.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
Occasionally ascends/descends stairs.
The person in this position frequently communicates with coworkers, clients and/or outside vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
