Part-time – under 17.5 hours per week

Position Summary:
SUNY Ulster seeks an employee who will be responsible for providing proctoring services in support of faculty, student services, and disability services in a testing center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check-in students and ensure test security by verifying students' identification prior to administering test.
- Maintain positive contact with all examinees throughout duration of the testing process.
- Observe and report any violations of testing protocols.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of testing policies and procedures.
- Perform customer service functions, including welcoming students, providing testing instructions, and assisting students and faculty in person, by e-mail, and by phone.
- Make sound, ethical judgments in regards to exam security.
- Ensure testing accommodations are provided for students where required.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn assistive technology for students with disabilities.
- Monitoring emails and scheduling student appointments.
- Obtaining and preparing exams for students according to the student accommodation.
- Perform administrative support tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in teaching, test administration, and/or higher education.
- Ability to give written and oral instructions, and to communicate well and professionally with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
- Some daytime, evening, and weekend availability is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AA degree.
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Direct experience with common assistive technology used in testing (e.g, screen readers, voice-to-text software).
An hourly rate of $23.21 an hour.
