Program Overview

RHD Ocean County RIST is a Residential Intensive Support Team that helps individuals maintain independent living and community integration while addressing challenges related to homelessness, substance use, mental health, family reunification, education, and vocational development.

The program provides a safe, supportive environment where individuals can build essential life skills, develop independence, and work toward long-term success in the community.

Position Summary

The Licensed Therapist provides comprehensive evaluations, assessments, and therapeutic interventions to address the psychological, emotional, and social needs of youth and families. This role collaborates closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, person-centered care and support.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead the in-house Multidisciplinary Treatment Team (MDT).
  • Collaborate with youth, families/guardians, and MDT members in developing individualized service and treatment plans.
  • Participate in treatment conferences, educational planning meetings, child and family team meetings, emergency reviews, and other case-related meetings.
  • Attend and contribute to MDT meetings, clinical rounds, house rounds, and case management reviews.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and provide diagnoses as appropriate.
  • Manage and direct clinical crises, including safety planning and intervention strategies.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapeutic services.
  • Complete and maintain all required clinical documentation, including treatment plans, Individual Service Plans (ISPs), Joint Care Reviews (JCRs), and progress notes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, accreditation, training, and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to all applicable Medicaid, licensing, and insurance requirements.
  • Provide psychoeducation, guidance, and support to treatment team members.
  • Offer clinical consultation and support to case management staff.
QualificationsRequired
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Current New Jersey licensure in one of the following:
    • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
    • Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Psychologist
  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-time clinical experience.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and crisis intervention skills.
Preferred
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Experience in outpatient, Intensive In-Community (IIC), and/or residential treatment settings.
  • Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and community-based services.
