Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator is a highly trained supply chain professional who helps manage the storage and transportation of a company's inventory.
The Logistics Coordinator will act as a liaison for shipping/receiving with customer service, quality, and production personnel. He or she will manage the shipping process and be responsible for the inventory management for incoming and outgoing company products and parts necessary to manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for prompt and accurate handling of purchase orders to suppliers, receiving and shipping goods ordered by the customers.
- Planning and organizing the logistics flow of returnable material and dunnage exchange between the customer and the warehouses.
- Responsible for completing inventory adjustments at the internal and external warehouses.
- Transfers finished goods to external warehouses.
- Analyzes data including warehouse reconciliations, shipping efficiency, load and warehouse capacity.
- Conducts physical inventory scans and reports results.
- Works with Logistics Manager and Warehouse Facilitators to perform physical counts, reconciliation, and inventory adjustments.
- Works with Logistics Manager to maintain the pallet program, tracks monthly pallet returns from customers, pallet usage, damage, etc.
- Develops and maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Oversees and coordinates the operation of delivery including freight companies and warehousing.
- Takes appropriate corrective actions for delivery issues and/or inventory issues.
- Completes all necessary and required paperwork related to film imports, exports and domestic shipments.
- Manages insurance claims related to logistics.
- Maintains daily logs and reports.
- Supports Warehouse Facilitator in Shipping and Receiving
- Administration and management of TMS system.
- Facilitate Domestic freight bids along with Transportation Planners.
- Trains and develops in areas of logistics involving domestic and international processes.
- Responsible for compliance of all related ISO / BRC standards.
- Agree to prevent injury incidents by observing established working rules, following the directions of managers/supervisors, practicing the principles taught in safety training and providing ideas so our safety management system is improved continuously.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and relevant compliance obligations.
- Comply with all other relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, or equivalent is required an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain is highly preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in supply chain operations is required.
- Working knowledge of tariff classification.
- Working knowledge of INCO terms.
- Knowledge of import/export requirements, physical inventory and shipping/receiving.
- Previous warehouse or shipping and receiving experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills/knowledge is required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Must have the ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workloads with multiple priorities.
