Global Operations Manager in Plainfield, Indiana at Organ Recovery Systems Inc.

Location: Plainfield, IN (on-site with limited travel)

We’re looking for a Global Operations Manager to own the day-to-day performance and continuous improvement of our warehousing and logistics network. In this role, you’ll be the central connection point between our internal teams and external partners (3PLs and carriers), ensuring the secure, compliant, and efficient movement of medical products and components while protecting inventory accuracy, quality standards, and on-time delivery performance.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between ORS and our warehouse company(ies) (3PL partners).
• Own relationships with logistics providers across parcel, freight, LTL, and FTL.
• Resolve shipping/warehouse issues quickly and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.

• Oversee receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials, components, and finished goods across suppliers, contract manufacturers, customers, and international company locations.
• Ensure inventory records are accurate, timely, and aligned between 3PL systems and ORS data.
• Ensure shipments follow FEFO (First-Expiration-First-Out) and align with quality procedures for lot release and expiration dating.
• Review and approve (or correct) 3PL and freight invoices.

• Build and publish KPI reporting (inventory turns, cycle count accuracy, order accuracy, on-time delivery, damage rates), analyze trends, and lead improvement actions.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, and Client Services to align inventory strategy to production schedules and customer demand.
• Monitor warehouse controls (environmental conditions, fire safety, rodent control, racking/forklift operations) to protect product integrity.
• Perform in-person audits/inspections as needed to verify documentation, condition of incoming materials, and outgoing shipment quality.

• Audit and evaluate existing 3PL performance and stability (capability, reliability, financial health).
• Identify, assess, select, and onboard alternate 3PLs if needed.
• Manage contracts with 3PLs and freight carriers; negotiate renewals and new agreements when required.

• 8+ years in distribution and warehouse management.
• Experience managing multiple 3PLs and multiple freight carrier types (parcel/LTL/FTL/etc.).
• Strong ability to identify root causes, resolve complex problems, and improve processes.
• Proficiency with inventory systems/data entry and strong working knowledge of Microsoft business tools; Excel proficiency preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or similar field (desired).
• Medical device and/or pharmaceutical warehousing/distribution experience (desired).
• ERP/WMS implementation experience preferred.

• Office environment with warehouse/site visits as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ~90% sit / ~10% stand.
• Manual dexterity: ability to assemble/disassemble and troubleshoot products.
