Job Description
The IPC Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine in-process control laboratory operations to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This role includes following established testing procedures, operating and maintaining lab equipment, recording and documenting results and supporting method verification.
Laboratory Operations:
Follow methods for sample preparation, testing and reporting
Conduct routine chemical and physical analyses on samples as part of daily laboratory activities
Identify and report any deviations or unusual results during testing and prepare OOS reports
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all test results in accordance with GMP and laboratory requirements
Conduct analyses using the following equipment; Brix, Colorimeter, pH, Water Activity, Texture Analyzer etc.
Coordinate with Production, QA, and QC departments to ensure timely release of products
Laboratory Equipment & Support Activities
Ensure of equipment calibration activities with in-house and third-party services
Maintaining accurate laboratory equipment inventory records and report any updates or discrepancies
Ensure routine cleaning, set up and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning
External Laboratory & Third-Party Support Activities
Prepare samples for shipment to third-party laboratories in accordance with testing requirements and procedures
Support coordination of sample dispatch and ensure proper labeling and documentation for external testing
Ensure availability of required materials by supporting inventory checks
Documentation & Compliance
Complete daily logbooks for all IPC laboratory analyses
Ensure proper documentation of laboratory records and reports in compliance with company and regulatory standards
Ensure organization and filling quality documents for proper traceability and easy access
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or related field
Experience in food manufacturing QC laboratory preferred
Knowledge of chemical testing methods
Familiarity with GMP, food safety standards, and laboratory compliance requirements
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external laboratories
