JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing Strategy & Operations leads operational oversight across the Marketing organization. He/She/They own operational cadence, planning, performance visibility, and the systems and processes that allow Marketing to execute at scale. As a member of the Marketing and Communications Department, the Director of Marketing Strategy & Operations reports to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

In this role, this leader will partner with the CMO to define marketing strategies aligned to Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta (GSGATL) priorities and translate strategic directives into integrated plans, including campaign planning. He/She/They will drive operational efficiency by improving workflows, clarifying processes, and optimizing tool utilization to remove friction that slows execution. Must enjoy working in a collaborative, high-pressure, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Audit existing workflows and processes to determine and establish the optimal approach and tools to execute with operational excellence
  • Drive spend-to-impact rigor through budget-to-priority alignment, efficiency metrics (e.g., ROAS), and recommendations for budget reallocation
  • Oversee Martech strategy and governance, including marketing automation operations, data quality, and integration points
  • Ensure scalable email marketing operations and performance measurement
  • Establish feedback loops (tests, retrospectives, performance reviews) to continuously improve both strategy and execution
  • Mature segmentation and audience operations to improve targeting, personalization, lifecycle performance, and campaign effectiveness
  • Own marketing performance management, including dashboards, attribution approaches (as appropriate), funnel analytics, and leading indicators
  • Establish and run executive scorecard cadences (weekly/monthly dashboards and quarterly business reviews) that deliver clear narratives – not just metrics – across the full funnel
  • Strengthen cross-functional operational relationships, with a focus on IT and Finance to ensure end-to-end digital integration and budget management
  • Serve as the consolidation and facilitation point for the MLT, driving alignment, decision-making, and accountability
  • Establish prioritization mechanisms that protect focus and ensure resources are aligned to the highest-impact work
  • Build executive-level narratives for leadership updates that reflect clarity, accuracy, and marketing impact
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices and translate them into pragmatic improvements for productivity and performance, including AI-forward workflows
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and risk management to ensure follow-through and timely delivery

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 5+ years in Marketing Operations, strategy, analytics, consulting, or equivalent roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • People leadership skills, including managing managers
  • Strong analytical rigor and the ability to translate data into executive-ready insights
  • Experience establishing operating cadence, scorecards, and performance management for a complex marketing organization
  • Experience managing budgets and linking investment to outcomes, including ROI
  • Fluency in Martech ecosystems
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and executive communication skills, with high judgment and discretion
  • Ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically
  • Experience in project management process from concept through execution
  • Strong research skills
  • Must be comfortable working with youth, volunteers, and parents
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta
  • Collaborative work style
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed across the 34-county council service area
  • Must be comfortable working on-call during nights and evenings and working some evenings and weekends
  • Non-profit experience a plus

Must successfully complete an MVR, credit, and criminal background check
