Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Respiratory Care
The Division of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is seeking applicants for an adjunct respiratory care clinical instructor position beginning in Spring 2027 to teach in the The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown’s Respiratory Care Program. The program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
The associate degree program's goal is to prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs). Primary responsibilities include teaching students in the clinical setting.
Requirements:
Minimum 4-year degree with an active RRT credential. Must exhibit a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, currency of clinical practice, and effective oral and written communication skills.
The candidate will teach clinical classes. Other responsibilities include maintaining currency in the field of Respiratory Care, engaging students in undergraduate research, maintaining Respiratory Care laboratory and equipment, assisting in accreditation requirements and service to the department and University.
Must have demonstrated teaching experience in neonatal, pediatric, and intensive care.
Preference is given to candidates with previous teaching experience.
