Location: 5100 Upper Metro Place, Dublin, OH 43017
Embassy Suites by Hilton Columbus Dublin is seeking a dependable Hotel Engineer to join our team. This position helps maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.
Our hotel features 284 guest suites and approximately 12,700 square feet of meeting and event space. The Hotel Engineer performs preventive maintenance, responds to maintenance requests, and completes repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, kitchens, laundry facilities, and other hotel areas.
ResponsibilitiesRespond promptly and professionally to guest and department maintenance requests.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of guest rooms, equipment, and building systems.
Troubleshoot and complete general plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC repairs within the scope of training and authorization.
Inspect equipment and report safety concerns, repair needs, or issues requiring a qualified contractor.
Complete drywall repairs, patching, texturing, painting, and finishing.
Prepare and paint walls, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces using appropriate materials and techniques.
Match paint colors and maintain a consistent appearance throughout the hotel.
Repair wall coverings, tile, grout, caulking, and other building finishes.
Perform basic carpentry and maintain wood surfaces, including staining and refinishing.
Assist with maintenance of kitchen and laundry equipment.
Support inspections and maintenance of life-safety systems as assigned.
Read and follow equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics as needed.
Record completed work, inspections, and outstanding maintenance needs using the hotel’s maintenance tracking system.
Keep tools, supplies, storage areas, and workspaces organized.
Follow hotel safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Communicate with the Engineering team and other departments to minimize disruptions to guests and hotel operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
A minimum of two years of building maintenance experience is required.
Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical equipment, and general building maintenance.
Experience with drywall repair, painting, and basic carpentry.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and a professional, guest-focused attitude.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and work effectively with a team.
Basic computer skills for reviewing work orders and recording maintenance activities.
Availability to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays based on hotel needs.

Stand and walk for extended periods.
Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Safely use ladders and approved equipment to work at heights exceeding 15 feet when necessary.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Identify colors and patterns needed for painting, finishing, and maintenance tasks.
Safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
