Job Description

Job Summary: Reports directly to the Nurse Practitioner Lead and Perioperative Nurse Manager. Responsible for performing all core Clinical Coordinator functions while serving as the lead resource for Clinical Coordinators within the Pre-Surgical Testing Department. Assures daily operational requirements are met, coordinates workflow and staff coverage, schedules Pre-Surgical Testing appointments, supports training and onboarding of new Clinical Coordinators, monitors the completeness of pre-operative documentation, and facilitates communication among providers, patients, surgical offices, and hospital departments. Serves as a liaison between frontline staff and departmental leadership to promote efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient service.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associate Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare, medical office, ambulatory care, surgical services, or hospital experience required.

Previous experience in Pre-Surgical Testing strongly preferred.

Previous experience serving as a trainer, preceptor, lead, resource staff member, or in an informal leadership role preferred.

Licensure and/or Certification: None required.

Skills:

· Excellent customer service and patient relations skills.

· Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of medical terminology and pre-operative documentation requirements.

· Experience scheduling patient appointments and coordinating complex surgical workflows.

· Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems.

· Ability to maintain confidential information.

· Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff.
