Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Crew Planning and Crew Training Scheduler is responsible for providing support to both the Crew Planning and the Crew Training scheduling team. The role is also responsible for the effective utilization of crew resources and developing long-range staffing plans in compliance with company policy and FAA regulations using analytical tools, coordinate and schedule all flight crews for flights in a cost-effective manner, attain an excellent understanding and operational skill at utilizing the crew scheduling /Planning software (AIMS). This position is also responsible for coordinating schedules for flight operations training events, including Ground School and Simulator for Initial New Hire, Transition, Upgrade, Recurrent and Differences Training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:
- Responsible for the long-term planning and scheduling of flight crewmembers. Maintain the operational flying program in an efficient, cost effective, and safe manner.
- Prepare, distribute, process, track, and award monthly BIDs through the Bid process.
- Accomplish the monthly Bid process including the creation of Bid Lines and finalizing bid awards.
- Building lines and updating schedules, accordingly, reflecting travel (TBA)to / from position.
- Publishing crew rosters. (Initial Publication and Final Publication)
- Keeping track of block hours and ensuring balanced block hours between crewmembers.
- Providing crew reports to the management team to include back-to-back bidding, block hours and deadhead time reports.
- Managing the annual vacation bid process.
- Approval of vacation / time off requests and the subsequent updating and documenting of schedules and schedule changes.
- Communicate with Training Department regarding recurrent training, proficiency checks, and pay sheet issues.
- Complete customer analysis and forecasts as necessary.
- Complete crew payroll analysis.
- Ensure that all open flight legs are efficiently covered within the planning horizon.
- Maintain training records for all initial, transition, upgrade, recurrent, and differences ground and flight training as well as any training required for instruction and checking positions using both electronic and hard-copy records systems.
- Monitor the progress of students from hire through completion of training to ensure all training is completed on schedule and required documentation is received; verify dates for flying.
- Maintain required identification and licensure documents for flight crews and run monthly reports tracking pending expirations.
- Assist with audit and quality control of pilot training records.
- Enter all training events in Crew Management Software.
- Schedule all ground and flight training and checking events in coordination with the Manager of Pilot Training and Crew Scheduling.
- Assist Flight Operations Instructors and Check Airmen as needed during training events.
- Schedule training facilities and centers for ground training and checking events.
- Schedule simulators for aircraft training and checking events.
- Supervise schedules of flight and/or ground instructors and Check Airmen.
- Coordinate with Crew Scheduling for all travel arrangements to and from training events.
- Always maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.

This position will not have direct reports but may require training for new team members.
Language:
Fluency in English is essential. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset.
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. Minimal physical requirements with approximately 30 lbs. or less lifting needs.
