Join Sandri as a Full-Time Staff/Tax Accountant!
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff/Tax Accountant to join our Finance team at Sandri, a family-owned business with a proud local legacy. This is an in-office role based in Greenfield, MA, requiring regular and reliable commuting to our main office.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Accountant at Sandri, you will:
- Prepare Multi-Entity Annual Report Filings
- Prepare/Provide Tax & Tax Exemption forms to Motor Fuel Suppliers
- Complete daily and weekly tasks, including reconciliation of Bill of Ladings (BOLs), entry of vouchers from Sunoco and other fuel vendors, and reconciliation and approval of money transfers to/from Sunoco and other fuel vendors, verify and approve bank transfers, and process credits from fuel suppliers.
- Complete monthly and quarterly preparation and filing of multiple tax returns, including Sales, Meals, Room Occupancy, Admission & Dues, Transporters, Gross Receipts, Inventory, Gasoline, and Special Fuels for multiple EINs and states.
- Balance tax payments to the General Ledger.
- Ensure that all assigned tax filings and payments are processed timely to avoid penalties.
- On a semiannual basis, prepare volume reporting for states.
- Renew all Motor Fuels and Special Fuels licenses annually, including coordinating the updating of required bond amounts with the states and our bonding agent. Forward renewed licenses to the terminals where we pick up fuel.
- Complete statements of Exportation when requested by terminals/suppliers.
- Assist with month end reconciliations and daily cash reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset register by tracking acquisitions, disposals, and transfers; verify asset tags and ensure correct classification.
- Maintain departmental files and backup documentation in an organized manner that facilitates timely retrieval.
- Other related tasks/duties as assigned, including special projects and specialized tasks specific to the assigned department.
- Prepare and file state annual reports for Sandri entities operating in multiple states.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Relevant equivalent experience in accounting will be considered.
Moderate to Expert level proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft products.
Ability to master proprietary or specialized department specific software
