Job Description

PURPOSE:

The South Carolina Foreclosure Attorney is responsible for handling uncontested and contested foreclosure litigation actions. Additionally, this attorney may work with some bankruptcy and evictions related matters.

This is a remote position but in-person attendance at courts throughout the state is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Representing clients at mediations, hearings, trials, and other duties as assigned
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, correspondence and motions
  • Analyze and review complaints, motions, as assortment of legal documents and final judgments
  • Conduct legal research
  • Provide legal analysis for, and communicate with, clients regarding case matters
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and legal representation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Other duties and special projects as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a Juris Doctorate.
  • Member in good standing of the South Carolina State Bar, while maintaining all necessary licensing.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience
  • Experience in uncontested and contested foreclosure litigation required
  • Circuit court/master in equity trial experience desirable
  • Reside in South Carolina (preference given to those living in or near Columbia/Florence/Charleston)
  • Position is remote but must be able to attend in-person court hearings throughout the state.
  • Flexible schedule but must be able to work 20-25 hours per week. Can work more hours if desired.
  • Part-time hours but Aldridge Pite must be the primary law firm employer.
