Job Description

We are currently seeking a recruiter to work with Cooper Tacia as well as our sister company, Cooper Equipment Rentals. This position is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent across office and field positions to support the company’s commercial construction projects, equipment rental branches and overall strategic growth. This role manages the full recruitment lifecycle, builds strong relationships with hiring managers, and represents the company’s brand and culture in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles (e.g., project managers, superintendents, estimators, safety professionals, accounting/admin, inside sales and field/craft positions).
- Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements, create/update job descriptions, and develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Source candidates through multiple channels (job boards, LinkedIn, social media, networking events, employee referrals, trade schools, etc.).
- Screen resumes, conduct initial phone/video interviews, and assess candidates for skills, experience, safety mindset, and cultural
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers, schedule meetings, and ensure timely feedback to candidates.
- Maintain a strong candidate pipeline for recurring/high-volume roles (e.g., superintendents, project managers, etc.).
- Prepare and extend offers in collaboration with hiring managers; support negotiation and acceptance process.
- Manage all onboarding coordination, background checks, and pre-employment requirements (e.g., drug screens, certifications, I-9 documentation).
- Schedule and facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring employees receive required safety training, company policy review, and job-specific information.
- Track and report key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source of hire, candidate flow, offer acceptance rate) and make recommendations to improve results.
- Support employer branding efforts, including career fairs, industry events, social media presence, and relationships with universities/vocational programs.
- Maintain accurate candidate records in the ATS/HRIS, comply with all hiring and equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations, and follow company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 2 years in construction, engineering, or another field-based/industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Experience recruiting for both professional/salaried roles and field/craft/trades positions.
- Familiarity with employment laws and hiring best practices, including EEO, ADA, and fair hiring guidelines.
- Proficiency with ATS/HRIS systems and sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, niche job boards, etc.).
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
