Content Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Content Project Manager based in United States.

The Content Project Manager will play a key role in coordinating the delivery of high-quality educational content from initial author engagement through final publication.
This position combines project management, relationship building, and operational excellence to ensure content initiatives move forward efficiently.
You will collaborate with authors, production teams, curriculum specialists, and internal stakeholders to maintain timelines and deliver impactful learning experiences.
The role requires strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
You will manage multiple projects simultaneously while identifying risks, improving processes, and supporting continuous content improvement.

Accountabilities:

The Content Project Manager will oversee assigned content projects, maintain strong author relationships, and ensure smooth execution throughout the content lifecycle. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage competing priorities, communicate effectively, and continuously improve operational processes.

  • Manage a portfolio of contracted authors and serve as a primary point of contact throughout content development projects.
  • Support author onboarding, project kickoffs, and ongoing communication to ensure contributors have the resources needed to succeed.
  • Build trusted relationships with authors by understanding their workflows, challenges, and content development needs.
  • Track assigned projects through all stages of the content lifecycle, maintaining accurate project records and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, submission schedules, and delivery milestones while proactively identifying risks or delays.
  • Perform publication readiness checks to ensure content meets quality and operational standards before release.
  • Lead post-project retrospectives, document lessons learned, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Use project data and tracking tools to monitor project health, identify trends, and communicate potential issues.
  • Collaborate with production, curriculum, and internal teams to ensure smooth progression through review and publishing stages.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and escalate risks with clear recommendations and possible solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of content operations processes and contribute to team efficiency.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong project coordination experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex workflows independently. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where organization, ownership, and adaptability are essential.

  • 5+ years of experience in project coordination, content operations, editorial production, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects independently, including large project portfolios.
  • Strong ability to identify risks early, communicate challenges proactively, and drive projects toward successful outcomes.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and making informed decisions within established guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in project tracking.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana, Google Workspace, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to evolving processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience managing relationships across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, contribute to team success, and support a positive team culture.
  • Experience working with external contributors, contractors, or freelancers is preferred.
  • Background in edtech, online learning, content production, instructional design, or technical content is a plus.
  • Familiarity with technology topics such as software development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or data is beneficial.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar tools is a plus.
