Guidewire Solutions Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Guidewire Solutions Engineer based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to design, configure, and enhance enterprise insurance technology solutions using the Guidewire InsuranceSuite platform.
You will work on critical systems that support policy administration, billing, and claims operations for large-scale insurance environments.
The position focuses on delivering reliable platform capabilities through Guidewire customization, integrations, and cloud modernization initiatives.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and domain experts to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
The ideal candidate will combine strong Guidewire expertise with software engineering discipline and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

Accountabilities:

The Guidewire Solutions Engineer will be responsible for developing, configuring, integrating, and optimizing Guidewire-based solutions while ensuring platform reliability, maintainability, and alignment with business needs. This role requires strong technical execution, collaboration, and ownership throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Design, develop, configure, and customize solutions across the Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.
  • Develop and maintain Guidewire applications using Gosu programming and platform-specific frameworks.
  • Configure product models, business rules, workflows, and data models to support insurance business processes.
  • Build and support integrations using Guidewire messaging, batch processes, plugins, and external system connections.
  • Contribute to Guidewire Cloud implementations, upgrades, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Analyze technical requirements and translate business needs into scalable and reliable platform solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization across Guidewire environments.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, engineers, and operational teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive Guidewire development experience, strong software engineering fundamentals, and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Candidates should have experience delivering production-grade insurance platform solutions and managing complex integrations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Gosu programming and Guidewire platform architecture.
  • Experience customizing Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ClaimCenter.
  • Deep understanding of Guidewire data models, product models, and rule configuration.
  • Experience developing Guidewire integrations, including messaging, batch processes, and plugins.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform and cloud-based modernization efforts.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with Guidewire database structures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with insurance technology platforms and property & casualty (P&C) insurance processes is preferred.
  • Guidewire ACE certifications, Cloud upgrade experience, Digital portals knowledge, or DataHub/InfoCenter experience are considered valuable additions.
Benefits:
