Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Mechanic in Hampton Roads, Virginia at DELAWARE RESOURCE GROUP OF OKLAHOMA LLC

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Mechanic performs preventive maintenance of all components, devices, equipment and associated systems that are essential to the proper operation of HVAC and R equipment and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Performs preventive maintenance of all components, devices, equipment and associated systems including but not limited to refrigerants, compressors, blowers, motors, drive assemblies, fans, service valves, dampers, condensers, cooling coils, piping, pumps, purge units, control systems and wiring, duct work, burner assemblies, combustion chambers, thermostats and temperature controls, registers, condensate and drip pans and drains, grills, evaporators, air filters, heat/air conditioning units.

- Replace and clean galley/messing equipment and fixtures, such as permanent filter sets, and all other items of equipment essential to the proper operation of HVAC and R equipment and systems.

- HVAC repairs and maintenance on systems and components such as:

• Ventilation duct
• Ventilation duct diffusers
• Ventilation and duct inspection covers
• Thermostats
• Thermostat on Mitsubishi system
• Clean, inspect, and preserve HVAC Condenser Coils as required
• Clean indoor Mitsubishi units and 8 compressor units
• Replace disposable filters
• Fabricate and install vent screens
• Insulate and preserve vent duct with 1’ closed cell foam

- Assist crewmates in the following (but not limited to):

• Cleaning and sanitizing duties of interior and exterior surfaces.
• Fumigation and extermination duties.
• Tie up or cast-off berthing barge (Down River)
• Sewage, potable water, steam, shore power, telephone, fire maintenance, gangways and cable television connection.
• 1-inch KEVLAR mooring lines (150 ft in length) with 6’ loop in both ends and Chafing gear installed.
• 2-inch KEVLAR mooring lines (200 ft in length) with 6’ loop in both ends and Chafing gear installed.
• Winterization duties (all classes as required).
• Accomplish a preliminary and final visual and operational inspection of all systems and equipment utilizing barge systems and equipment check off list (BSEC). Submit detailed report of all discrepancies.
• Fire Fighting Equipment maintenance including replacement, repair, and maintenance.
• Other duties as identified and assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Active DoD Personnel Security Clearance
• 3-5 years of commercial, industrial, marine, or shipyard HVAC/R experience
• Navy or maritime support experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or Type I/II)

Supervisory Responsibilities

• As Required.

Security Responsibilities

• Eligible and obtain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
• Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
• May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees who do not have a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
