Position Summary:
The Water Heater Selling Technician is responsible for selling, replacing, and installing water heaters and related products in both residential and commercial environments. You’ll serve as both a technician and a trusted sales consultant—educating customers, identifying needs, and recommending solutions. This role requires mandatory overtime availability due to the emergency nature of our services.
What You’ll Do, includes but may not be limited to:
- Actively recommend and sell replacement water heaters, water filtration systems, and related products during service calls.
- Close residential and/or commercial sales opportunities by presenting product information, pricing, and value.
- Install gas, electric, and tankless water heaters with attention to safety and code compliance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform water heater repairs and maintenance.
- Leverage AI technology to review recorded sales interactions and improve sales techniques.
- Educate customers on product benefits, energy efficiency, and proper maintenance.
- Maintain vehicle inventory, complete documentation, and ensure excellent jobsite cleanliness.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and installers to complete jobs on time.
- In some cases, a dedicated installer may be assigned to assist with job completion.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
What we are looking for:
- Previous sales experience is preferred – you should be confident discussing product options and closing on solutions.
- Minimum one year of relevant field experience; plumbing background preferred.
- Strong communication and customer engagement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (lifting water heaters 75+lbs, bending, crawling, driving, etc.).
- Coachable mindset and openness to feedback from field leadership and peers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record per company policy.
