Scientist, Synthetic Chemistry to work in Concord, OH: Prepare challenging small molecules to support research and development in pharmaceutical, agrochemical and electronic industry. Write method validation plans and method development addendum by using Reference Standard materials for testing raw, intermediate, final or toxicology materials. Design and execute novel multi-step synthesis. Prepare carbohydrates, strained small molecules, macrocycles, phosphines and natural products. Operate NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, GC, GC-MS, UV instruments on a routine basis and utilizing TotalChrom chromatography software to advance projects. Purify compounds using prep HPLC and automated flash column chromatography. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twenty-four (24) months in job or job related experience to include operate NMR and UV instruments on a routine basis; prepare challenging small molecules to support research and development; design and execute novel multi-step synthesis and purify compounds using column chromatography. Experience may have been gained before, during or after degree. Full-time position at 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
