Patient Sitter Level 1 in Claremont, New Hampshire at Valley Regional Hospital

At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Patient Sitter to join our team.

At the direction of the RN or Paramedic, and assigned to a specific patient, the Patient Sitter Level I will remain in constant attendance with the patient to help maintain the patient's safety.
The primary responsibility of the Patient Sitter is:

• Remain in constant attendance with the assigned high-risk patient until relieved by a qualified individual. This includes when the patient leaves the unit for procedures or tests.


• Perform specific activities (non-nursing) at the direction of the patient's nurse/paramedic.


• Report any observed changes in the patient's condition to the patient's nurse/paramedic.


• Obtain immediate assistance from the patient's nurse/paramedic in the case of any unusual circumstances, or with any restrained patient who needs assistance or attention.


• May read, play cards/games with, and/or interact with the patient.


• Maintain patient confidentiality according to the confidentiality policy at all times

An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

• Previous healthcare experience involving direct interactions with a patient.


• Must be able to relate easily to both children and adults with all types of illnesses.
