Compensation: $24.00 / hour

The LEAD Machine Operator (2nd shift) will troubleshoot, adjust and help operate machines that finish the ends of pipes. These products are then sent to the next phases of the process. The LEAD operator is responsible for producing a quality product.

The machines must be set properly for the right diameter and length of pipe. The LEAD Operator is responsible for communicating pipe needs to the Side Loader Driver to keep machines running. The LEAD operator may be responsible for running multiple machines.

The LEAD operator maintains a clean and safe machine and work area.

The LEAD operator must change the tooling on the machines as needed to maintain the quality of the part.

The LEAD operator must also perform required maintenance checks. The LEAD operator is responsible for keeping accurate production records, which are recorded in the computer planning system. If the computer system is down or the LEAD operator ran a special part, the records are handwritten on cards by the operator. The LEAD operator is responsible for meeting established production standards.

• Ability to Lead others and provide direction
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Requires constant standing and walking (up to 10 hours per day)
• Repetitive use of both hands (up to 10 hours per day)
• Requires repetitive twisting
• Repetitive reaching at and above shoulder level and bending at the waist
• Working with water soluble coolant
• An awareness of exposed cuttings and moving parts on the machine
• Lifting up to 30 lbs.
