Job Description Summary
- The Superintendent will oversee, manage and direct all aspects of an organization’s residential, commercial, and government General Contracting opportunities in the field from beginning to end while adhering to and applying the company safety rules to all activities.
Supervisory responsibilities
- Enforce all Loven safety standards at construction sites
- Participate in pre-construction phase of projects, as required
- Monitor weekly schedules and maintain project progress based on that schedule
- Review project submittals and integrate information while the project is being constructed
- Maintain existing client relationships
- Maintain a set of as-built drawings referencing the changes and RFIs, both physically and electronically
- Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors prior to and during the project
- Coordinate submittals between design team, subcontractors, and AHJ
- Coordinate with utility companies as a project scope requires
- Participate in closeout requirements as needed including electronic punch lists and as-builts
- Formulate and execute budgeting and scheduling recovery plans
- Review and interpret plans and subcontract scopes of work
- Coordinate with the AHJ and any needed inspections or special inspections
- Participate in project pre-flight and post-flight meetings
- Maintain a quality installation to the level of company requirements
- Be responsible for project dimensioning and conformance with plans
- Continually access and apply the company safety rules to all activities
- Organize and maintain material orders per a schedule
- Coordinate with various designers, other agencies, utility companies as needed
- Simultaneous trade partner management
- Manage daily photos, JHAs, and other project paperwork

- Valid driver’s license with good driving record as determined by our insurance company guidelines
- Ability to learn Superintendent software and implement into daily workflow process
Work environment
- Majority of time on construction sites, indoors or outdoors based on projects
- Some time in office, primarily prior to project start and after project completion
- Primarily working with subcontractors and our craft workers
- Designated work area for completing paperwork, calls, etc.
- Some projects based in active healthcare environments
Physical demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at times
- Must be able to navigate across uneven terrain when at construction job sites
- Must be able to navigate use of ladders when at construction job sites
- Must be able to withstand long hours each day traversing job sites
Travel
Extended stay near project locations may be required to perform these duties for certain projects. Loven Contracting pays for accommodations and per diem.
Required education and experience
- At least 5 years of General Contractor Healthcare Superintendent experience
- Experience with project management programs and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Project, Word, Excel, PDF readers, Outlook or similar) essential
- Knowledge of task timeframes and associated costs to assist PM with change order preparation
- Knowledge of contracts and how to implement the information while the project progresses
Preferred Education and Experience
- Superintendent health care experience
- LEED (or equivalent) accreditation is beneficial
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
Must be able to clear government and hospital access requirements which may include background checks, immunizations, etc.
