Location:Burke Mental Health Clinic – Nacogdoches, Lufkin, or Livingston, TX
Position Number: P #1298
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Emergency services participation as needed)
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience, licensure, and certification

Position Overview

Burke is seeking a compassionate and skilled Adult Psychiatrist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative clinical support to ensure high-quality, person-centered care. This position plays a key role in serving adults in our community and maintaining strong clinical documentation within our electronic health record system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management appointments
  • Provide clinical consultation and support to treatment team members
  • Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner in the EHR
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure comprehensive patient care

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of an accredited medical program

Licenses & Certifications

  • Required: Texas Physician License
  • Required: Valid Texas driver’s license. Applicants must have a driving record that is insurable by Burke’s insurance carrier.
  • Preferred: Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry

Physical Requirements

  • Use visual and auditory skills to evaluate and monitor patients
  • Bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. while assisting patients
  • Complete SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggressive Behavior) training
  • Perform fine motor tasks such as handwriting, typing, and driving
