Grab-N-Geaux on 529 Fortune Rd in Youngsville is hiring Cashier / Kitchen Workers. This is a combined role: you will run the register and work the kitchen, so no two hours of your shift look the same.

Pay By Shift

- Morning, scheduled between 2:00 AM and 12:00 PM — $13–15 per hour

- Evening, scheduled between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM — $12–14 per hour

- Night, scheduled between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM — $14–16 per hour

Each is a full-time, 8-hour shift. Your exact start time within the window is set with your Store Manager. Tell us which shift you want when you apply.

Responsibilities

At the register:

- Greet every guest with "Welcome to Grab-N-Geaux"

- Process cash, card, and lottery transactions accurately and efficiently

- Verify identification on all alcohol, tobacco, and lottery sales in accordance with Louisiana law

- Count your drawer at the beginning and end of each shift and follow all cash handling and drop procedures

In the kitchen:

- Prepare and cook menu items to recipe and hold them at the correct temperature

- Work the daily prep sheet and keep the hot case stocked ahead of peak periods

- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including temperature checks, date labels, and handling procedures

- Record waste on the daily log

- Clean work surfaces, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift and at the end of it

Throughout the store:

- Restock and rotate shelves and coolers, oldest product to the front

- Clean and maintain the front counter, coffee bar, restrooms, lot, and fuel islands

- Support your team during busy periods

Qualifications

Required:

- 18 years of age or older

- Basic math and cash handling ability

- Able to stand and walk for the length of your shift and work in a hot kitchen

- Reliable transportation to and from the store

- Availability to work weekends and some holidays

- Louisiana Responsible Vendor permit prior to your first shift

Preferred:

- Previous convenience store, gas station, restaurant, or food service experience

- Previous register or cash handling experience

- Food handler or ServSafe certification

No diploma required. We provide full training for candidates without prior experience.

About Grab-N-Geaux

Our founders learned the gas station and convenience store business in Texas, perfected their barbecue, and brought both to Lake Charles. Today we operate 30 stores across Southwest Louisiana, and our smokehouse remains the reason guests go out of their way to visit us. We are a Louisiana company, we are still growing, and every store is staffed by people from the community it serves.

Physical Requirements
