Job Description

Who are you?
As a Senior Data Intelligence Consultant at Cevo, you'll need a combination of technical skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines and architectures on AWS, using services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, and Lake Formation.
  • Develop and optimise data workflows in Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark) and/or Snowflake (data sharing, tasks, Snowpark).
  • Partner with clients to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable data strategies and technical solutions.
  • Perform data modelling, schema design, and query optimisation across cloud data warehouses and Lakehouse architectures.
  • Build and maintain data transformation logic using tools such as dbt, PySpark, or SQL-based frameworks.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance best practices are embedded throughout delivery.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders in agile delivery teams.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, solution designs, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide guidance on cloud cost optimisation, platform selection, and tooling decisions.
  • Support pre-sales activities including scoping, effort estimation, and solution proposals where required.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 6+ years of experience in a data engineering, data architecture, or data consultancy role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
  • Proficiency with at least one of: Databricks (Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) or Snowflake (warehouses, stages, Snowpipe, Snowpark).
  • Solid SQL skills with the ability to optimise complex queries across distributed systems.
  • Experience with Python or Scala for data processing and automation.
  • Familiarity with data modelling concepts: star/snowflake schemas, medallion architecture, or data vault.
  • Exposure to orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or Prefect.
  • Strong communication skills — able to present technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile or scrum delivery environments.
Desirable Skills & Certifications
· AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect).
· Databricks Certified Associate or Professional certification.
· SnowPro Core or Advanced certification.
· Experience with dbt (data build tool) for transformation pipelines.
· Knowledge of data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Atlas, AWS Glue Data Catalog, Alation).
· Exposure to streaming and real-time data architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark
· Streaming).
· Previous consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
· Familiarity with BI/visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Quick Sight.
