Mental Health Technician I at Recovery Solutions of South Carolina, LLC – Columbia, South Carolina

Position Description:

Do you have a passion for helping others and creating a safe, supportive environment for individuals receiving care? Were looking for a compassionate and reliable Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our team. In this role, youll work directly with individuals served, supporting their daily needs, ensuring safety, and contributing to their treatment journey under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

As an MHT, youll be an active part of the treatment teambuilding trust, promoting recovery, and serving as a positive role model in a therapeutic environment.

What Youll Do

Provide direct care that prioritizes safety, comfort, and individual rights Support treatment plans through supervision, positive interaction, and role modeling Assist with daily living needs, nutrition, rest, and exercise Monitor and maintain safety in the facility, anticipating and de-escalating potential crises Report behavioral observations and communicate effectively with nursing staff Intervene in crisis situations using approved de-escalation and restraint techniques Participate in group activities, recreational programs, and therapeutic milieu support Complete required documentation, safety checks, and observations accurately Escort or provide one-on-one support to individuals served as needed

What Were Looking For

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Associate degree in a human services field (preferred) Experience

Direct care experience in mental health, forensic, or healthcare settings (preferred) Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology (preferred) Why Join Us?
