About This Position
Working closely with our Product leadership and reporting to the SVP of Content and Growth, you will be responsible for scaling a high-performing sales ecosystem that bridges the gap between sophisticated SaaS-style sales operations and the unique pastoral needs of Catholic parishes and schools.
The Role at a Glance
As the Sr. Director of Sales, you will organize, design, and lead the sales process for the Augustine Institute product portfolio. This role oversees inbound and outbound sales, sales operations, and diocesan partnerships to expand our mission and serve the Church with excellent formation content and materials to help people put on the mind of Christ (cf. Philippians 2:5).
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Inbound & Outbound Sales: Optimize lead conversion and drive proactive outreach to parishes and schools.
· Sales Operations: Oversee Sales Operations infrastructure (CRM, data analytics, and forecasting) to ensure the team works with intelligence and efficiency.
· Diocesan Partnerships: Cultivate high-level relationships with Diocesan leaders to engage and implement enterprise-wide solutions.
· New Product Launch: Key collaborator with Product teams, designing go-to-market strategies for new products and overseeing sales forecasting and execution.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
· Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue targets for Formed, Word of Life, parish programming, and new products.
· Analyze market trends within the Catholic landscape to identify new opportunities for growth and impact.
· Design and manage a transparent sales pipeline, providing accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts to the executive team.
· Represent Sales and contribute to the Content and Growth leadership team for team direction and decision-making.
2. Team Management & Development
· Directly manage the Directors/Managers of Inbound Sales, Outbound Sales, and Sales Ops.
· Foster a culture of professional excellence, accountability, and spiritual alignment.
· Implement training programs focused on consultative selling and product mastery.
3. Sales Operations & Excellence
· Standardize the use of CRM tools to track activity, conversion rates, and customer health.
· Collaborate with Product and Marketing to ensure a seamless "MQL to SQL" handoff and consistent brand messaging.
· Refine pricing strategies and incentive structures that motivate the team while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
4. Diocesan & Key Account Relationship Management
· Personally engage in and engage in high-level negotiations and diocesan partnerships.
· Oversee the development of enterprise level service models for dioceses looking to standardize their catechetical efforts.
Qualifications & Skills
· Mission Alignment: A deep understanding of and commitment to the Catholic faith and the mission of the Augustine Institute.
· Experience: 8+ years of sales leadership experience, 10+ years of industry experience, preferably within EdTech, SaaS, or a major religious publishing/media house.
· Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to move from high-level strategy to "boots on the ground" execution.
· Tech Savvy: Expert-level knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot) and sales productivity stacks.
· Communication: Exceptional ability to present to diverse audiences—from internal leadership and teams, to parish volunteers to Bishops.
