About Gaming Arts
Gaming Arts, LLC is a gaming technology company in a period of focused growth and reinvention. We design and deliver casino entertainment solutions across the U.S. and Canada, building on a strong foundation in bingo and keno while actively expanding our portfolio of video slot machines and electronic table games.
We’re investing in our future by strengthening our platforms, modernizing our infrastructure, and building the teams that will take our products forward. This is a moment of momentum at Gaming Arts: new ideas, new systems, and a renewed commitment to quality, performance, and collaboration. This is a pivotal time to join a company that’s building forward with intention.
About the Role
The Software Engineer (Game Development) builds the production software that powers our slot products from concept through casino deployment. This role is responsible for writing, structuring, and delivering game code that performs reliably in regulated, high-volume gaming environments. You will translate approved game designs into working, certification-ready titles within our slot platform architecture. This is a delivery-driven engineering role. The expectation is ownership, execution discipline, and production accountability.
What You’ll Do
• Develop game software in C++17 within our slot platform framework
• Implement game logic, bonus features, paytable behavior, animation triggers, and state management systems
• Integrate mathematical models into functional game architecture
• Translate functional and technical design documentation into structured, efficient, maintainable code
• Optimize software for performance within gaming hardware constraints
• Debug and resolve complex defects throughout development, lab, and certification cycles
• Participate in structured code reviews and technical design discussions
• Collaborate closely with Art, Audio, Mathematics, QA, and Technical Compliance
• Communicate product status, and key issues to key constituents across the organization including managers, technical lead, Artists, QA, and others
• Ensure all deliverables align with jurisdictional and regulatory requirements before submission
What Success Looks Like
• Games move through development and certification without preventable rework
• Feature implementation is precise - no disconnect between math, design, and execution
• Code is efficient, stable, readable, and scalable
• Development timelines are met through disciplined execution
• Technical risk is identified early and addressed proactively
• Collaboration across R&D functions is efficient and professional
• Deadlines are met without compromising quality
What You Bring
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong proficiency in C++ 17 in production environments
• Experience in an Agile/SCRUM environment
• Demonstrated experience contributing to shipped commercial software products
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles
• Experience working within structured development processes and version control systems
• Strong debugging and systems-level problem-solving ability
• Ability to independently interpret technical documentation and deliver against defined requirements
• Self-starter, self-sufficient, and self-reliant to accomplish required tasks
• Accountable to deliver quality products consistently and on time
• Must have “will get it done” work ethic. Never “why we can’t”, always “how can we”
Nice to Have
• Development experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Exposure to embedded systems or hardware-constrained platforms
• Experience within gaming, interactive entertainment, or real-time systems
• Linux experience
• JIRA, GIT experience
