About This Position
Title: QA Engineer/SDET/SIT
Department: R&D
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
About Gaming Arts
Gaming Arts, LLC is a gaming technology company in a period of focused growth and reinvention. We design and deliver casino entertainment solutions across the U.S. and Canada, building on a strong foundation in bingo and keno while actively expanding our portfolio of video slot machines and electronic table games.
We’re investing in our future by strengthening our platforms, modernizing our infrastructure, and building the teams that will take our products forward. This is a moment of momentum at Gaming Arts: new ideas, new systems, and a renewed commitment to quality, performance, and collaboration. This is a pivotal time to join a company that’s building forward with intention.
About the Role
The QA Engineer/Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)/Software in Test (SIT) will take ownership of test strategy, automation, and system-level quality across our gaming platforms. This role is for someone who codes, tests, and thinks like an engineer-bringing automation, scalability, and risk-based testing to highly regulated, hardware-integrated gaming systems. You’ll help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and reliability before they ever reach the casino floor.
What You’ll Do
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for gaming software and platform services
• Develop automated test coverage across functional, regression, and integration testing
• Execute targeted manual and exploratory testing where automation is not practical (hardware, cabinets, edge cases)
• Validate software–hardware interactions across cabinets, peripherals, and system components
• Partner with R&D engineers and product teams to define acceptance criteria and quality risks early
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and technical context
• Support release readiness for regulatory submission, manufacturing, and field deployment
• Improve CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into build and release workflows
• Continuously evolve QA tools, test strategy, and quality standards
• Perform official software builds for submission to regulatory labs, verify builds, and burn media to test.
What Success Looks Like
• Automated test coverage increases without slowing development velocity
• Defects are detected earlier in the development cycle
• Releases move smoothly through regulatory and internal approvals
• Engineering teams rely on QA/SDET as a quality authority and technical partner
• Quality decisions are data-driven and risk-informed
What You Bring
• 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and agile practices
• Experience testing complex systems where software interfaces with hardware
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and integrating automated testing into pipelines
• Strong analytical skills and disciplined documentation habits
• Bachelor’s degree or related experience
Nice to Have
• Strong programming/scripting experience (e.g., C++, C#, Java, Python, or similar)
• Experience in regulated industries (gaming, casino, lottery, medical devices, fintech)
• Familiarity with regulatory labs and submission processes (e.g., GLI, BMM)
• Experience testing embedded systems, real-time software, or device drivers
• API, backend, or service-level automation experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing or field deployment workflows
• SAS experience
• JIRA experience
• Linux experience
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Access)
