This is not a traditional HR role.
This is a strategic leadership position responsible for shaping how we:
Build leadersAttract and retain great talentScale our culture intentionallyEquip teams to operate with clarity, accountability, and ownershipYou will lead the People function (payroll, onboarding, recruiting) while partnering closely with the COO and company leaders to ensure our culture and leadership capabilities grow stronger—not weaker—as we scale.

Own and Evolve the People Strategy
Define and execute a scalable People strategy aligned to company growthBring new capabilities, tools, and systems to elevate the organizationPartner with leadership to anticipate and solve people-related challengesBuild and Strengthen Leadership
Develop a strong leadership bench across the organizationTrain and coach leaders to effectively manage people, performance, and conflictEmbed principles from The Empowerment Dynamic (The Power of TED) to reduce drama and increase ownershipDrive Culture as We Scale
Act as a steward and driver of company cultureEnsure our values are lived consistently across teams and leadersHelp leaders create environments focused on outcomes, accountability, and growthOversee the People Function
Lead a team across:Payroll & People AdministrationOnboardingRecruiting (including building out this function)Ensure operational excellence without getting pulled into day-to-day executionElevate Recruiting & Talent Strategy
Build a scalable recruiting engine to attract high-quality talentPartner with leaders to define roles, expectations, and hiring standardsStrengthen how we assess and select the right peopleOwn Training, Systems & Documentation (Trainual)
Lead a full refresh and ongoing ownership of TrainualEnsure processes, expectations, and training are clearly documented and usedDrive accountability in how teams learn, operate, and improvePartner Cross-Functionally
Support leaders across the organization in navigating people-related challengesPartner with outsourced legal and external resources as neededAct as a trusted advisor to the COO and leadership teamHow Success Is MeasuredSuccess in this role is measured by:

Has 10+ years of experience in People, HR, or People Operations leadershipHas worked in startup or high-growth environmentsComes from high service-oriented organizations (where people experience matters deeply)Is warm, approachable, and people-first in how they leadCan also drive execution and hold high standardsHas experience building teams, systems, and leadership capabilityIs comfortable operating at both strategic and practical levelsIs energized by building culture intentionally—not maintaining the status quoA strong performer in this role is known for:
