Job Description
Position Highlights:
Under the direction of a Floor Care Supervisor, the Team Leader supports team members who clean, polish, and refinish the flooring. The Team Leader will ensure all areas of responsibility are completed by opening and closing the shift, tracking Team Member progress, performing quality inspections, providing supplies and equipment, and informing their supervisor on the status of the team's progress. This position performs a variety of duties that support the department in maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has Two (2) years’ Customer Service experience
- Has One (1) year supervisory or project lead experience. NOTE: Internal candidates with 6 months’ supervisory or project lead experience may be considered.
- Has One (1) year floor care experience.
- Has evidence of a good driving record and maintains a good record per Moffitt policy.
Responsibilities:
- Has a complete working knowledge of communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, isolation standards and transmission-based precautions, chain of infection, hand hygiene to ensure patient safety.
- Has a complete working knowledge of safety data sheets, chemical spill response, hospital-grade chemicals, and chemical hazards.
- Has a complete working knowledge of different types of hazardous materials (chemotherapy, pharmaceutical, bio-hazardous, sharps, pathological, microbiological, and bodily fluids) and how to properly handle and dispose of these materials.
- Has a complete working knowledge of appropriate PPE.
- Identifies different waste streams disposed of improperly and reports them to Supervisor.
- Effectively communicates with staff within and outside of Environmental Services department to resolve issues and coordinate work.
- De-escalates situations and resolves daily operational issues.
- Provides feedback to Supervisor on Team Members' performance
- Conducts quality performance inspections and observations for staff competencies
- Inspects areas for building maintenance related issues, reports services needs and safety hazards to the Supervisor
- Assumes responsibility for running shift in absence of Supervisor
- Is responsible for training Team Members
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED *Note: An additional six (6) months of related experience may be considered in lieu of HS Diploma/GED. *
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
