Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist plays a key role in the Human Resources department, working directly with staff throughout the organization to handle employee relations matters and employee training and development. They serve as a business partner to management on Human Resource related issues. The HR Generalist acts as an employee champion and fosters a positive work environment. This role also provides recruitment support for Corporate and Leadership level office positions when openings arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide day-to-day consultation and support on employee relations matters ensuring fair and consistent application of polices including coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, policy interpretation and management principles.

• Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations, ensure timely and compliant resolution, and recommend appropriate corrective actions when necessary. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and regulatory compliance of employment for all states Krapf performs business in. Work closely with the VP of HR to reduce legal risks and to seek legal assistance with more complex employee matters.

• Establish and maintain relationships with business leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and employee retention.

• Leverages data to solve problems and drive priorities.

• Partner with leadership to design, implement, and maintain Career Paths and other employee development initiatives. Develop and manage training curriculum within the LMS to support for career advancement, promote development opportunities to employees, and contribute strategic recommendations during workforce planning discussions across all divisions.

• Design and deliver training programs for managers on HR policies, employee relations, performance management and compliance topics.

• Review company employment policies and procedures and assist in revising, developing and implementing policies and practices to ensure regulatory compliance and support business goals and strategies. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to employees as needed.

• Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency of Human Resource services performed.

• Work closely with the HRIS Specialist on the required HR trainings for staff and ensure trainings are up to date and completed timely. Assist in the development of incentives for staff for timely completion.

• Handle recruitment for all Corporate and Leadership level office positions, as needed.

• Oversee the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding ensuring accuracy and compliance within HRIS by managing and auditing employee data, personnel records, and system workflows for completeness and regulatory compliance.

• Compile the monthly corporate onboarding meetings to provide a well-rounded new hire experience.

• Maintain an effective level of business literacy about Krapf, the business financials, its strategic plans, its culture, and its competition. Provide input on benefit improvements based on research conducted of similar businesses in our industry.

• Oversee and manage HRIS system integrity by ensuring accurate data entry, maintenance, and reporting to support HR functions and ensure compliance with policies and procedures and EEO regulations.

• Maintain a strong focus on continuous learning, staying current on HR best practices, legal compliance, and organizational trends.

• Work closely with HR team members to be cross trained and provide support during absences.

• Perform other HR-related duties as assigned to support operational and strategic needs.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources environment including a heavy emphasis on employee relations, employment laws, talent management and demonstrated experience building or standardizing HR processes and procedures.

• Strong knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources.

• Prior experience with an HRIS database required; Paylocity experience a plus.

• Prior experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.

• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office), social media and internet skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.

• Fast learner and willingness and ability to learn new systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including written documentation for investigations.

• Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize work activities.

• Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and in a non-confrontational manner.

• Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems using sound and accurate judgment.

• Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information.

• Prior experience in full cycle recruitment a plus.

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

• Must pass pre-employment Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Test and Non-DOT Physical.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, or related field of study.

• SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time to support field teams as needed.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for 6-8 hours per day.

• Repetitive use of hands for writing and typing 6-8 hours per day.

• Hearing adequate for phone use and vision adequate for computer use and reading.

• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
