The role of the Payroll Specialist is to prepare and distribute a client's payroll, any necessary tax documents, and make sure that all hours, benefits, and deductions are logged appropriately and that all payroll accounts remain balanced. Customer service is the number one priority in securing a strong positive relationship to ensure client satisfaction. Retention of clients and providing them with first class service is mandatory.

Essential Job Functions
• Responsible for reconciling and resolving payroll issues internally and externally as identified.
• Function as a point of contact for assigned clients.
• Respond to client and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Process payroll for assigned clients.
• Take a proactive approach to foreseeing issues for clients and providing suggestions.
• Perform work free from error and within timeline.
• Additional relevant duties as assigned.
• Responsible for complying with all payroll adjustment forms, keeping records compliant and documented in both the payroll file and employee file in addition to adhering to each company's special payroll needs with every payroll that is processed.

Required and Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Certified Payroll Processor (CPP), preferred.
• 2-3 years' work experience in payroll.
• Experience with HRIS software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
