Seasonal Server
Position Overview:
Gejos in Clear Lake IA is looking to hire seasonal servers. Applicants must be friendly, hardworking, team oriented, honest, comfortable with food and liquor service. Must be available to work consistently, have a positive attitude at all times and be an excellent communicator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide courteous, professional service to both internal and external guests, ensuring their needs are met and that they feel welcomed and valued.
- Take full responsibility for people, product, and profit, ensuring the highest standards of service and quality are maintained at all times.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of work areas, performing opening and closing procedures in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Adhere to procedures for bar tabs, table transfers, and accurate cash/credit handling to ensure financial integrity.
- Upsell food and beverage items, demonstrating extensive knowledge of menu items, including alcoholic beverages. Respond to guest inquiries with confidence and accuracy.
- Check identification for age verification and monitor guest needs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Develop personalized relationships with guests, proactively resolving any complaints with hospitality and professionalism.
- Ensure the accuracy of orders and deliver them promptly, collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff to provide exceptional service.
- Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
- Exhibit flexibility for varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Be prepared to be on-call for scheduling as needed.
- Work closely with other members of the restaurant team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for guests.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Experience:
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a willingness to adapt to changing schedules.
- Availability on weekends is required, as well as on holiday when the restaurant is open.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, and potentially fast-paced conditions.
- Strong ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions promptly.

- Overtime pay may apply for hours worked over 40 per week, per federal law.
