Job Description

Summary of Position:

The MRO buyer procures, as effectively as possible, the goods and services for maintenance, repair and operation which keep the plant running efficiently.

Corporate:

  • Manages the department budget efficiently as per approved annual budget
  • Performs additional assignments / duties as assigned

EHS:

  • Meets company safety goals

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop purchasing strategy for selecting MRO categories, including but not limited to considerations of spot buys vs. long-term contracting.
  • Required work with confidential data/information
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers, including terms and conditions.
  • Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, delivery and pricing.
  • Support management in strategic MRO cost savings projects.
  • Cooperate with production, maintenance, engineering and other departments in the development of MRO material requirements.
  • Monitors daily billing for the modules and training goods for Monthly closing.
  • Negotiate service contract agreements with best pricing, service levels, delivery and payment terms, incentives and penalties, as needed.
  • Obtain materials from suppliers at lowest cost with considerations of safety, quality, and sustainability, reliability of source and urgency of need
  • Train users in ERP/VAATZ purchasing systems

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience in related field

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • 1–3-year of MRO Buying Experience
  • Experience using invoicing platforms and client billing portals

Technical/ Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • SAP/ERP knowledge is strongly preferred
