Outside Facilities Maintenance Worker at Emmanuel Faith Community Church – Escondido, California

The Outside Facilities Maintenance team accomplishes cleaning and general maintenance tasks for buildings and grounds.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Essential Functions:

• Is responsible for grounds keeping, including: mowing lawns, pruning trees and bushes, keeping the grounds clean (power washing concrete) and manicured
• Is responsible for the maintenance of the exterior if the buildings including: repairs, painting, mechanical issues (A/C, drains, etc.) and cleaning of exteriors
• Has a working knowledge of sprinkler and irrigation systems.
• Has a working knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Assist to church staff for general maintenance tasks, as needed
• Assist in other maintenance tasks and construction tasks as assigned
• Assist outside event setups as needed
• Preference to individuals with experience with clerical work and vehicle maintenance.

Safety:

• Works in a safe manner, recognizes unsafe situations and takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and others
• Able to safely operate power tools/equipment including but not limited to: chainsaws, hedge trimmers, mowers and blowers
• Able to safely operate heavy equipment including but not limited to: bobcat, forklift, pulling trailers
• Uses all installation tools according to company safety policy

Training and Development:

• Must be willing to further develop skills and expertise in areas of responsibility through personal study, regular participation in our worship services, and participation in appropriate training seminars.
• Willing to be trained/certified as a bus driver of passengers.

Time Commitment:

20 hours/week, plus or including:

• Works a schedule and receives time off outlined in the Emmanuel Faith Community Church Employee Handbook 2026
• Serves on projects and committees as assigned

Qualifications:

• Commitment to EFCC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, & Values.
• Christ-centered behavior, i.e., treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity at all times
• Has a High School diploma or equivalent experience
• Is trained and experienced to conduct landscaping activities
• Is self-motivated and is able to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to function independently and ability to lead a team as needed to achieve results.
