JOB DUTIES:

• Answer customers’ questions regarding care of a wide variety of plants in our garden center and able to look up other plants as needed
• Maintain knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals
• Work directly on sales floor, and registers, throughout the store, assisting customers and accomplishing Bachman’s Customer Service Culture
• Process all store transactions according to established procedures including In-store pickup, Curbside pickup and Delivery orders, returns for customers and transfers to other stores
• Maintain store appearance with general cleaning, caring for plants, dusting, stocking and displaying merchandise
• Answer telephone calls regarding all perishable horticulture questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Demonstrates excellent customer relations and communication skills is required
• Must be able to read and write English, perform basic math skills
• High energy level. Demonstrated ability to follow through on work direction
• Past register experience preferred
• Work is performed in areas with weather extremes of heat and cold, and wet conditions
• The position requires standing/walking on hard surface during the entire shift, working at a fast pace
• Must be able to lift 50lbs. with frequent bending

• April through September
• Flexible work schedule/Retail store hours (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays)
• Expected to work a minimum of half the weekend days each month, in May preferably more.
• Mother's Day weekend has required work shifts.

COMPENSATION: $17.50/hour
