About This Position
As a Lawn Care Technician at Ford’s Hometown Services, you’ll help customers achieve healthier, thicker, greener lawns by delivering timely, professional treatments across our program routes. You’ll apply fertilizer and weed control as part of our Premier program, which includes time-release fertilizer, season-long weed control, liming, and additional lawn-health components such as micronutrients, summer stress support, and surface-feeding insect control.
If you do not currently hold a pesticide applicator license, we will guide you through the entire process. You’ll receive structured training, study support, and hands-on coaching so you can earn your license confidently and start applying treatments the right way—safely, accurately, and within all state requirements.
This role is field-based and customer-facing. You’ll perform basic lawn observations, communicate clearly with homeowners, and document each visit accurately using our route and service systems. Ford’s offers multiple lawn care options and add-on services (like moisture management and soil testing), so technicians who are detail-oriented and consistent have a real opportunity to grow their skillset and value.
Hours: 7:00 - 4:00 Monday - Friday, some overtime or varied hours may occur during peak season, to include Saturday
Benefits include:
*10 paid holidays
*Vacation time
*Sick time is earned on your first day with us
*Medical, dental and vision plan options
*Anniversary Reward programs, pot luck lunches, cookouts, hot dog Thursdays during the peak season, Woo Sox game (compnay paid), Halloween Costume Day, Holiday party with dinner & entertainment, employee discount programs.
