Manager, Grants & Partnerships – Fundraising (Full-Time – Permanent)
The Role and OpportunityReporting to the Senior Manager of Philanthropy, the Manager, Grants & Partnerships plays a key role in securing and stewarding institutional funding while helping grow CMHA Toronto’s philanthropic revenue through foundations, and other strategic funding vehicles.This role leads CMHA Toronto’s grants strategy and institutional fundraising portfolio, identifying opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing the full lifecycle of grant applications and reporting. Beyond traditional grants, the Manager supports an evolving philanthropic strategy by cultivating foundation partnerships, engaging philanthropic advisors, and leveraging emerging funding channels.We are seeking someone with a strong foundation in grant writing who is also excited to expand their network, think strategically, and explore how all aspects of fundraising intersect. Research and pursue funding opportunities from foundations, government, corporate funders, and philanthropic intermediariesDevelop high-quality grant proposals, reports, and funding narrativesManage the full grant lifecycle, including prospecting, submission, reporting, and stewardshipMaintain a grants pipeline and dashboard to track opportunities, deadlines, and outcomesCollaborate with program and finance teams on budgets, work plans, and reportingSupport Government grant submissions as requiredReporting & Data Analysis: Prepare detailed presentations and reports on grant activityBest Practices: Identify opportunities to implement best practices in data managementWorkflow Enhancements: Proactively assess and refine processes to improve efficiencySector Engagement: Stay informed about new and emerging trends in philanthropy
Program Management
Manage a comprehensive grants pipeline and dashboard to track progress and outcomesConduct research to identify funding opportunities aligned with CMHA Toronto's s prioritiesDrive revenue generation from non-governmental funding sources, meeting prospecting and reporting targets and supporting governmental funding applications when requiredPartner with program departments and finance to integrate funding processes seamlesslyPrepare compelling grant proposals, solicitation packages, and other fundraising materialLead the development and implementation of a funder stewardship and recognition programWork collaboratively with programs to understand funding needs to craft tailored proposalsCollaborate with program leads to develop budgets, timelines and work plans for proposalsProduce high-quality reports and narratives to communicate impact to fundersCultivate meaningful relationships and partnerships both internally and externallyStay informed about emerging trends, practices, and industry standards
Donor Advised Funds
Identify and cultivate opportunities through DAFs and philanthropic networksBuild relationships with foundation staff, philanthropic advisors, and DAF holdersCollaborate with the philanthropy team to deepen DAF relationships where appropriateTrack DAF trends and maintain accurate contribution recordsDonor monitoring and compliance reports

Experience & Education Required
Equivalent to the completion of two (2) year degree in business, social services, public relations, or marketing
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in grant writing, grant management, or related roles, preferably in the nonprofit sectorStrong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling proposals and reportsExperience using iWave foundation prospecting softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of mental health issues and familiarity with the funding landscape is an assetStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, board members, funders, and community partnersCommitment to CMHA Toronto's mission and values, including a dedication to promoting mental health equity and inclusion
