Assistant Controller at WATTEREDGE LLC – Avon Lake, Ohio

Watteredge is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is ready to grow into broader leadership responsibilities over time. We are a Northeast Ohio manufacturing organization with approximately 125 employees and a strong operational focus. This position reports directly to the Controller and will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives. Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP is highly preferred and will be a significant differentiator. What You’ll Do Financial Reporting & Close • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts • Support internal financial reporting and KPI preparation • Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations of results Budgeting & Financial Analysis • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring • Analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations Operational Accounting Support • Provide support and backup for AP and AR functions • Assist with collections of past-due accounts as needed • Manage Positive Pay uploads and banking transactions • Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with GAAP Audit & Compliance • Support external audit preparation • Assist with tax documentation and regulatory compliance • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes Systems & Process Improvement • Leverage ERP tools to improve reporting and workflow efficiency • Support enhancements within Infor SyteLine ERP • Contribute to scalable accounting process development as the company grows What We’re Looking For • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required) • 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (required) •Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience • Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP highly preferred • Cost accounting exposure is a plus but not required • CPA not required • Strong Excel and analytical skills • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities Watteredge, LLC's policy provides equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
