VICE PRESIDENT-CFO at Southwest General – Middleburg Heights, Ohio

The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the development and execution of financial strategies that support Southwest Community Health System mission, goals and objectives. Through income, cash management, and debt management, the CFO will obtain sufficient capital to fund operations and replace and expand facilities and equipment. The CFO is responsible for the effective organization of the finance and accounting staff and assures that accurate and timely historic and forward-looking financial reports, budgets, forecasts and related information is provided for both internal and external reporting needs.

The CFO has responsibility for direct leadership of the finance and accounting function throughout the organization. The position acts as a leader and consultant in providing the best possible financial services to meet the needs of the Boards and hospital and physician leadership. This includes, but not limited to, accounting, insurance and risk management, managed care contracting, revenue cycle (including pricing, patient accounts, revenue integrity), business analytics, debt management and treasury functions.

Responsible for compliance function. Maintains responsibility for systemic approaches that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue. Maintains responsibility for all managed care operations for a healthcare organization.

Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team in the deployment of policies and procedures meant to help the organization meet its stated business objectives.

Responsible for aligning departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization. Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization’s financial stability.

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, businessl administration with commensurate executive level experience

Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MD, etc.) is highly preferred

Accounting Certification (CPA or CMA)

Minimum of 15 years’ experience

Healthcare experience preferred

Excellent human relations, organizational development and oral/written communication skills

Must be able to provide strategic leadership, work with all levels of stakeholders and provide the best outcomes possible

Strong project management and performance measurement; detail-oriented with ability to oversee many projects from origin to execution

Strong mathematical, accounting and analytical thinking skills
