Finance Assistant at Guadalupe Center – Immokalee, Florida

SUMMARY

As an integral part of our team, the Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in assisting the Controller with day-to-day operational accounting functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record revenues such as parent fees and sales
• Assist with recording accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process invoices
• Provide administrative support during month-end closing
• Participate in annual audits
• Assist with banks and ad hoc reconciliations

SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Ability to communicate clearly and to read and write in English
• Ability to follow directions, regulations, safety guidelines, policies and procedures
• Work experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role
• Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
• Knowledge of Quickbooks or SAGE
• Procedures regarding punctuality and attendance are expected to be followed.
• Ability to pass Level 2 background screening and drug testing

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma required; Associates in Accounting preferred
• 1 -2 Years Finance/Accounting experience

WORK CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL EFFORT

• Typically, an indoor office environment
• Minimal lifting may be required, not to exceed 25 pounds
• May be required to drive oneself to off-site meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
